Hhkb layout sizes12/7/2023 Number pad: The number pad is far better suited to data entry than the number row at the top of most keyboards.Key cluster spacing: The spacing between key clusters make the board feel roomier and may prevent accidental keystrokes.Familiarity: Full may be the keyboard size with which you’re most familiar, and therefore most comfortable on a muscle memory level. But there are a lot of reasons to go with a full-size board. Sitting next to those smaller models, full-size keyboards can start to look a little cumbersome. ![]() What are the pros and cons of a full-size keyboard? Pros There are even smaller sizes than that, but they’re rare and often custom pieces.ĭid You Know?: The HHKB layout repositions the control key to make it easier to execute more time-saving commands without leaving the home row. At 65%, boards eliminate the function row at the top of the keyboard, and at 60% they drop the arrow and navigational keys. 96% or 90% boards are the same but remove the gaps between key clusters. 1800 boards rearrange the full-size board ever so slightly and remove the screen lock and pause keys to save space. There are, of course, plenty of other keyboard sizes. Typically, TKL boards retain the usual spacing between the key clusters, but there are also compact TKL boards - sometimes called 75% boards - that squeeze the clusters and drop the screen lock key to save a little more space. These boards are also known as 80% keyboards because they lop off the 20% of the full-size keyboard that holds the number pad. If there is a contender for the crown of most popular keyboard sizes, it’s the tenkeyless keyboard (or TKL). ![]() Outside of specialty keyboards, full-size computer keyboards are the longest option on the market and perhaps the most plentiful. All told, full-size keyboards typically run around 427.5 millimeters long - that’s just under 17 inches, or 22.5 standard keycap units. There’s plenty of space between each of the key clusters, and there are typically 104-108 keys on the board. It includes the number pad, usually on the far right side of the board, the arrow cluster to the left of that, and modifier keys above the arrow keys. This is apparently a common problem in PBT spacebars though so no worries.A full-size keyboard is the standard model for desktop computers. Fits your Infinity keyboard (if you have one of those). What ought to be mentioned on this page is the geometry of the stems for 6u spacebars: -2u, 0, +2u. These match in shape the many DSA keysets available from GH and/or MD and the most wonderful thing, if you build custom keyboards, is the availability of 6u, 2u and other oddball unit sizes from SP. Most of you shouldn't need much of a description beyond that. I mean, it's a nice spacebar, but a spacebar nonetheless. Not really a review, I guess? I couldn't use it as the 11900 I wanted to put it on had an off-center placement for the actual switch, but the material is fine and appears good from that standpoint. The product pictures really should show this. Not very useful for my build since I needed a 6u spacebar off center for my plate. Quality make, color matching, and materials as usual, but these darn PBT space bars just don't hold a line. Long story short, I ended up with only one spacebar that works, though it is still warped. These were for an HHKB build with a Mekanisk plate. ![]() I ordered four 7U bars over the course of a few weeks to match my Granite and Granite HC sets. Great color, amazing texture, it gets the job done. ![]() Sturdy spacebars but lacking in color choices I really like your company and the service you provide but it makes me hesitant to purchase items that don't have full detail on them. Please put pictures or diagrams of what mounts the space bars use somewhere on this listing, PMK/SP. Also means I need to source some 3u space bar wires which are going to be a little bit annoying to find. I am kind of annoyed that I can not longer use the space bar that I planned to use because of this AND I have to purchase two more 3u bars from here in order to keep some semblance of the same layout of what I was planning. This is not listen in the product details. The space bar came warped (which wouldn't really be an issue otherwise since that's something I can fix at home) and it uses what I presume to be a 5u stabilizer mount. This is a review for the 6u bar only, not any other size. They fit well, were decently straight, and didn't cause any issues. These were ordered as replacements for a spacebars that I had gotten from another vendor that was slightly too short.
